Small batch, hand dyed, thread using Hopi black sunflower seeds.
Hopi black sunflowers have been carefully bred and selected over many centuries by Native Americans, including the Hopi, for dyeing baskets and yarn.
Like most purple natural dyes, the colour is not completely fast and will change in shade over time. It tends to become a bit blue/greyer after a few years. Colours last longer if they are kept out of direct sunlight.
3 g wool/silk blend thread on wooden spool.
Packed in labelled glassine envelope.
