THE NATURE OF CREATIVITY: Stitched
Over the past year or so, talking to friends who were recently bereaved or who were helping relatives downsize, the same conversation kept coming up. What should they do with the sewing supplies? They didn’t want to throw them out, but they weren’t sure how to use them.
Above all they wanted to honour all the memories that they had of their ancestors who sewed, embroidered, who snipped buttons off worn out clothes and kept them in a jar.
In Stitched, over six months we are going to pick all that apart - learning skills and stitches, making a needlebook, embroidering onto clothing and then creating a piece of art that ties everything together. It is a course with writing, drawing, felting and botanical dyeing alongside the stitching. It is taught in a mix of live and recorded lessons, downloads and step by step tutorials.
It is included as part of the monthly subscription to The Studio Club.
